Pamela moved to Belize in
August 2005 and immediately jumped in to working with
the Placencia Humane Society her very first weekend
here. Her duties mainly include the adoption of
cats and dogs brought into the PHS rescue program, which
now includes international adoptions. In conjunction
with PHS, Pamela started a kitten rescue program
"Purrs and Whiskers Belize" . She also runs the medical
side of the monthly clinics working directly with the
vets for animal care.
Pam adores cats – she brought 11 with
her from the U.S. -
Klyde,
Sammy, Bamm Bamm,
Zeke, Kasey,

Rick
drove to Belize in May 2006. With them
came their cat Kenya, (she died last April), and their Queensland

Mary Ann came to the Peninsula in December 2005 having previously lived
in Florida for 24 years. She and her husband Keith arrived in their boat
"Dog House" with their five dogs - -(Barney,

Cat
Harshbarger, Fundraising:
Cat and husband Dale moved to Belize in June of 2005.
They flew here straight from the Bahamas with their dog (Carlos) and
5 cats (Amber, Annie, Henrietta, Beep, and Gypsy). After the sudden
loss of their beloved dog they were quickly adopted by two stray
local dogs, Corky and CoCo-nut. Cat immediately became involved in
PHS working with the medical team assisting the vets at the monthly
clinics.
Madalon
Richardson, Product Sales and Supplies & Webmaster:
Madalon & Doug started traveling to Belize from California in 1980
in their Land Rover- -living in their Rover under a palm tree on
their property that Doug had purchased in early 1970.
The PHS Board wasn't completely aware of Madalon's devotion and
skills when they asked her to take over product sales several years
ago. Madalon
has on occasion hunted down the last dog collars to be found in
Belize, knows every place in Dangriga to buy inexpensive towels to
be used at clinics, and keeps track of every single T-shirt, coffee
mug and wine glass to be sold to bring in funds for PHS. (You can
buy PHS T-shirts from our
Products Page.)
Lulu and Lucky are Madalon's loyal canine
companions.
Cindy
Weller, Treasurer:

Already Cindy has proven to be a great addition to PHS in many ways
as well as in demonstrating her unique writing talent. Cindy
and Jim have adopted a local puppy "Tara'
