New Run at Monkey River Farms
The PHS
Satellite Shelter
program has worked well for several years. However, as
more and more people move to the Peninsula, more and more rescued
animals need a place to stay until they are ready for adoption.
The need for more space for a shelter
has now been partially solved by the owners of Monkey River Farms, a small
farm off the Southern Highway, near Bella Vista.
Pets
for which no room is available in satellite shelters on the Peninsula
can now be cared for at Monkey River Farms, under the supervision of Hilly and
Maria Chinchilla, the young farm owners.
PHS is truly grateful for the generosity
of Maria and Hilly who have made it possible to provide a safe haven
for abandoned and abused pets in southern Belize.
If you would like further information about the PHS rescue program or
would like to adopt one of these pets, please contact our Clinic
Coordinator, Mary Smith at 523-4306 or
stanmary@btl.net.
